Are there others out there that have experienced employment discrimination because of your past criminal record? I’ve experienced it myself for 25+ years. My conviction was something, by todays standards, would be considered a misdemeanor.
I am colaborating with others to create an employment Service/Website and other tools to assist ex-offenders in their search for suitable employment. A book will be offered that is a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process of finding gainful employment and also a section on how to start your own business. A section will be devoted to offering advice on dealing with the stigma of your past.
I’ll be updating this post from time to time with tips and advice. I’ve learned the secret to surviving and even thriving with a felony conviction. Even the local home improvement store would not even hire me for a part-time garden center employee. I know it doesn’t make sense but there are literally millions of people just like me that need help.
